WestField Main Place Lunar New Year Celebration Recap

This past weekend we took Emi to her first Lunar New Year celebration at the Westfield Main Place mall in Santa Ana.  The mall was decorated with many traditional symbols of Lunar New Years and was abuzz with all different sorts of activities for the entire family.  We first stopped to get Emi’s fortune drawing by a caligrapher.

There was also a dough artist as well making amazing figurines out of dough.

Emi was too young to draw and paint, but there was a drawing contest as well as an activities center for kids to paint Lunar New Year masks and bookmarks.

We strolled around to read our fortunes and got a red envelope “li xi” that had discounts and free items to try at many of the mall’s food court!

After all that excitement, Emi was pretty beat and took a long nap so we took advantage of the discounts to grab some snacks in the food court.

Luckily she woke up just in time to take a photo with the UVSA dancers beautifully dressed in their traditional ao dai.  Over all it was a great time. Parking was easy and the event was well spread out and marked for all to see and enjoy.  Thanks Westfield Main Place for a fun and safe Lunar New Years celebration for our  family!
